Bicycle Helmet Fashion Show at 7 PM, with prizes!!!
Decorate your bicycle helmet and show it off.
There is
more to bike helmets than symbols of misguided repression.
Show your biker pride by doing up your helmet with style.
Prizes will be awarded in three categories:
- Adults
- Kids
- Most Creative
The following guidelines govern entries:
- The helmet shall not be consumed as a part of the exhibition. That is, it cannot be blown up, burned up, or otherwise rendered unusable.
- Protective materials must not be removed or the helmet's protective value purposefully compromised. OK, a helmet with a giant rubber turkey glued to it may not truly be up to CPSC standards for protective headgear, and we can deal with that. But it must be intact, without any of the protective shell removed or anything else that obviously reduces its protective value, such as nails driven into styrofoam, etc.
- The helmet must be able to stay on the wearer's head using the straps provided.
- To place in the Adults and Kids categories, the helmet must, at least, have pretentions of usablility on a bicycle. It is not necessary to ride a bicycle past the fashion show judges during exhibition. This is not a condition in the Most Creative category, which can be as extravagant as you want.
Prizes: So far, Easy Street Recumbents has pledged $50 gift certificates for the 1st place winners in each category.
